Central Provincial Public Service Commission

The Provincial Council system was established in Sri Lanka in the year 1988 under the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the functions of the Central Provincial Public Service Commission have been commenced on the  14th July 1988 . The Central Provincial Public Service Commission's authoritive area consists of three administrative districts , namely Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya.

Our Services

The main servies provided by Public Service Commission of Central Provincial Council, Sri Lanka are:

Recruitment

Conduct all recruitment examinations, Efficiency Bar examinations, Departmental examinations and Promotions Examinations for the officers of Central provincial Public Service

Appellate Authority

Act as an Appellate Authority of those who are aggrieved by the decisions taken by its delegated authorities in relation to appointment, promotion, transfer, disciplinary control and dismissal.

Appointments

Exercise the Power of Appointments, service confirmations, promotions, extension & retirement of officers of Central Provincial Public Service which are delegated by Hon. Governor

Absorption of Officers / Employees

Ability to add featured image, gallery, video and audio to your Joomla article.

Service Minutes, Recruitment & Promotion

Preparation and amendments of Service Minutes, Recruitment & Promotion Schemes and Transfers procedures and forward them for the recommendation of Hon.Governor

Transfers and Releases

Inter Ministries and inter provincial transfers and releases to Central Government.

Introduction

The Central Provincial Public Service Commission functions as the main organization for providing services for nearly 55,000 Provincial Public Officers who are belonging to the Ministries, Departments, Institutions and other service supply institutions of Central Provincial Council.

In terms of Section 32 (2) of the Provincial Council Act No. 42 of 1987, the Central Provincial Public Service Commission is vested with the powers of appointment, transfer, dismissal and disciplinary control of Officers in Central Provincial Public Service. Central Provincial Public Service Commission was established on 12.10.1988
